The heart is a muscular organ found in all animals with a circulatory system (including all vertebrates), that is responsible for pumping bloodthroughout the blood vessels by repeated, rhythmic contractions. The term cardiac (as in cardiology) means “related to the heart” and comes from the Greek καρδιά, kardia, for “heart.” The vertebrate heart is composed of cardiac muscle, which is an involuntary striated muscle tissue found only within this organ. The average human heart, beating at 72 beats per minute, will beat approximately 2.5 billion times during an average 66 year lifespan, and weighs approximately 250 to 300 grams (9 to 11 oz) in females and 300 to 350 grams (11 to 12 oz) in males.[1] In invertebrates that possess a circulatory system, the heart is typically a tube or small sac and pumps fluid that contains water and nutrients such as proteins, fats, and sugars. In insects, the “heart” is often called the dorsal tube and insect “blood” is almost always not oxygenated since they usually respirate (breathe) directly from their body surfaces (internal and external) to air. However, the hearts of some otherarthropods (including spiders and crustaceans such as crabs and shrimp) and some other animals pump hemolymph, which contains the copper-based protein hemocyanin as an oxygen transporter similar to the iron-based hemoglobin in red blood cells found in vertebrates.

The pancreas is in the abdomen, behind the stomach. It is shaped a Little like a tadpole and is approximately 25cm long. The pancreas is an organ of the digestive system and of the endocrine (hormonal) system.
The pancreas adds its own digestive juices and enzymes to food in the duodenum, via a small duct . This process is said to belong to the ‘exocrine pancreas’. and the pancreas produces the hormone insulin, to help lower the amount of glucose in the blood. This is the role of the ‘endocrine pancreas’. The pancreas also produces the hormone glucagon which raises the amount of glucose in the blood. When someone is a type one diabetic, they must give themselves insulin shots because their pancreas doesn’t work.
The pancreas is located deep in the abdomen, sandwiched between the stomach and the spine. It lies partially behind the stomach. The other part is nestled in the curve of the duodenum (small intestine). To visualize the position of the pancreas, try this: Touch the thumb and “pinkie” finger of your right hand together, keeping the other three fingers together and straight. Then, place your hand in the center of your belly just below your lower ribs with your fingers pointing to the left. Your hand will be at the approximate level of your pancreas.

worst day yet by far, other than my birthday ‘party’ day. i went to a mall filled with chinks and old women (i am so, so sorry god forbid) and they’re all staring at left leg, just like usual, and this little girl stares at it and goes “ooohhhh..” and runs to her mommy and says something in russian or something and the mom goes “fnsd anbjd snjk”
so i go over and say “excuse me why are you looking at my leg and telling your mother about it?” the mother pulls me aside as if i’m some kind of child molester and she’s like “please, she’s only 5 years old, she doesn’t know any better.” and i said “that’s extremely rude though.” and she goes “yes, but i told her it was rude and she knows now.” i go, “she’s just gonna do it when she’s older too, she’s just gonna do it it worse ways” and she gives me this look and gives me more shit and i ignore her deliberately and start talking to my mom. she walked away. then i had an old woman look at it and shake her head and her eyes bulged out her her head as she walked by me, so i borrowed honey’s sharpie and wrote “FUCK OFF” just above my knee. no one stared at it anymore today after that for more than a split second.
i’m so tired of earth.
